i have a 2001 silverado and was wondering if the made a 4:11 posi for my truck if so is it just the gears or complete new rear end with disk or what and where could i get one any help would help a lot thanks in advance

 

Yes they do make 4.10 gears for you truck. You need an 8.5 10 bolt 30 spline. If you have an open diff they do make posi units for your trucks. I suggest going with an Eaton posi.

 

Typically speaking, 4.11 is a Ford gear. We have 4.10's though. As for a posi, you probably have a half *** posi already. It will only lock under 20. This is referred to as the G80 locker. You can see if you have it by looking at the RPO codes in your glove box, it will be a sticker with a bunch of 3 letter codes on it. If G80 is listed then you have this half *** locker in your truck.

They do make a better one though. It's the Eaton Posi. Usually the best place to pick one of them up is off of eBay, just search for Eaton Posi and you will get lots of hits. You want the one that is a 10 bolt 8.5" with 30 spline shafts. That is a direct swap for the differential in your truck. They are usually had for about 305 + shipping.
