Default 383 LS1 is up and running!!!!

After a problem with the VATS it is finally up and running. (Thanks Allan Futral & CARAZYCUTTER4.8)

It idles choppy and sounds awesome. The driveability of it is hardly any different with the 5.3. This is with the stock converter (Ran out of time and funds for a Yank).

I've been babying it all night. Trying to get a few heat cycles on it. I'm gonna go ahead and change the oil at 100-150 miles, then again in another 500-600 miles and then 1000 more. Then after that, I think it'll be okay to run mobil 1 or royal purple in it.

How many miles should I wait until I go WOT? 600-700? It's killing me just breaking it in and not being able to see how much power I've been missing out on!

I would go wide open now. Drive that bitch like you are gonna drive it, it'll actually help seat the rings too.

500 Miles on the break in. Avoid high RPM and lugging it at low RPM. Changing the oil after that is a good idea - it tells you instantly if there is an impending problem. I put Synthetic into my GMPP 383 crate when I changed the oil @ 500.

Just make sure all the fluids are full and the oil pressure is good then go at it.
