Default 380 offset stroker engine

Guys,

What do you think about this setup. I am building a 380 offset stroker engine. I am grinding the journals on my stock LS1 crankshaft to get 3.71 inch stroke, this is the most you should go according to Futral Motorsports. I will be using Eagle forged rods and Diamond 4.04 forged pistons with a C2 MTI camshaft. The heads are 6.0L stage II going through a TCI 3000 stall on 3.73 rear end. I should have this completed in the next couple of months. I will get it dynoed at thunder racing. So stay tuned!!!

How much you planning on RWHP wise? I would go with a bigger stall though. Other than that, it sounds great! Good Luck!

Hey 2001
If you dont mind me asking what will you been the rotating assembly? And how many cubes will be gained with just the stroke? Will there be any clearance issues to deal with?

Greg,

I am hoping to get around 420 rwhp or better. I will find out soon and I will post the numbers on the board. The extra stroke will get me 10 cubic inches and there should not be any clearance issues because I am using a stock LS1 crankshaft.

just because you are using the stock crank doesn't mean you wont have any clearance issues, clearance issues come from the extra stroke moving the rods down farther and out around farther, you very well may have some issues, you also may not. i would definatly go with a bigger stall with that motor and cam, i would even go with a bigger cam. i am expecting 420+ rwhp from my new motor and i'm not running 380 inches, most of the 383 strokers are getting 440-470 rwhp with similar cams. what block are you using to get the 4.04 bore?

Matt,

There should not be any clearance issues because the stroke is only 3.71 inches. I am using a 6.0L iron block and boring it to 4.04 inches.
