500 to the wheels will require a lot of cam and a great set of heads... If you go cathedral think a good set of CNC 225CC heads. The LS3 heads could get you there as well.

Those are good heads for the price. I've been looking at the tsp ls3 ported heads. I was also going to get a cam speced out for me. It's a toy now so not to worried about a dd cam.

You really cant go wrong with either option, but if I was building NA only and had a big budget I would choose a nice set of cathedrals. With a smaller budget I think the LS3 head starts to look really attractive. It likely wont quite have the snap of a nice cathedral, but it will pull hard as hell from your mid range on up.
I had my rotating assembly spec'd for 11.5-1 and heads worked to get that compression.

Basically we can make 100 different suggestions, but without a price range it is mostly a waste. Also compression ratio will make a big difference in choosing a good head. For example if you want 11.5:1 you will want a cathedral head such as some 243's that have been worked and milled. If you want lower compression around 9.5:1 then it opens up the choices. Also if you get square port heads keep in mind it changes your entire intake manifold setup. Also if your cam is only good to .600 lift there is no reason to get heads that are good to .675 or if your cam goes to .650 then you need heads to match.

I'm trying to get heads under 2k , 800 for cam and springs, plus I'm going with a new intake manifold due to having a stock 99 intake right now.
Trying to keep compression above 10.5
