Default Headers for 370

Are the 1 3/4 headers the ones that are recommended for a LQ4 or 370 build that will be 350 to 450 horse?

Seems to be some choices out there. Not interested in coatings, will be just getting painted ones its a beater.

Pacesetter seems to be the cheapest brand at around 300 dollars.

Hooker seem be about a 150 more.

Most seem to be 16 gauge with the next step up in pipe if 1 7/8 going to 18 gauge.

Ok. Thats a pretty good size pipe. I guess the LS stuff likes bigger pipes than say a high flowing aftermarket head on a sbc like a 383 or 406,. Most have 1 3/4 inch headers on them or custom build them.

Yea Id also run 1 7/8". Assuming as a 370 you will push it pretty hard. I ran 1 7/8 on my stock LQ9 knowing more mods were coming

My build will be a lower rpm build. Max power between 5000 and 5500. Just a daily driver. Want to get as much out of the exhaust so I can tone down the engine.

Cant compare a Gen1 to a gen3

Hell alot of 370s benefit from 2" primaries when more directed to higher power setups

Most 6.2 header kits are 1 7/8

Like I said. Its just a driver and not a something Im going really get crazy with. I have a chevelle for that. Its my daily driver

I already have a LQ4 with a t56 and 4:56's.

I have a factory tach that turns orange at 5000 to 5500 and maxs out at 6000. That does meaning anything other than its my daily and rather not install a aftermarket tach or have a gas sucker.

I do have a set of Pacesetters already on the truck, but they are cracked and exhaust man feels they cant be fixed. Im not sure till we get them off.

They are 1 3/4" I think, they could be 1 7/8" Im not sure.

What about these Speed Engineering stainless steel ones? They are a little over 200 dollars. Seems kind of cheap for that.
