Preston, yeah that might be an idea since the heads will already be off. i am planning on buying the DOD delete kit from thunder racing. what are your thoughts as to the head work?

Sell the intake to a 99-07 guy with a "Big Ugly" intake and throw on a FAST LSXRT. A dyno test was just posted on a stock 5.3L new body style truck and it made 20rwhp over the TBSS with no tuning.

i did see that thread, however i dont feel like spending a 1000 bucks for 20hp. im spending about a thousand now and i know i am going to get way more that 20hp at the wheels from these mods. that route seems to be the easiest ways of doing that without getting into the internal engine.

but preston made a good point, since my heads will already be off why not get the mill/P&P'd? i just dont know how much that will cost me just yet.

It's the best time to do it, and it's an investment in the future also because any future upgrades or modifications will benefit from better airflow.

Shop around and see what different shops want for whatever level of porting you need.

Over the winter i'm going to get a set CNC'd, milled and have bigger valves put in.
