I think my truck must have gotten used to the new tune because it seems basically fine now. I did notice yesterday that if I floor it, the fuel pressure goes up to 68ish as soon as i floor it, but, slowly creaps back down to about 60. That's kinda disturbing. It only happens at WOT. Not at part throttle.

I have the 160deg thermostat and a K&N drop in filter. I want to relocate my MAF sensor and a cone filter to come right off the throttle body but can't figure out how to get around the AC line.

here is what i did.

i got a k&n cone filter i think for a 99 explorer. it has like a 4 inch hole and a slight taper on the cone. then i took that flexible tubing off the stock air tube and cut it off. so it goes in this order, cone- flexible tubing- maf-throttle body. the maf and the throttle body are connected by the same piece of coupling that the whipple intake tube used. the flexible piece was just enough to insert the filter under the fender brace and just flexible enough to bend around the ac line. hope this helps ya! also, crising down the road, my temps are ambient, but at idle, it is about 20 degrees hotter.

bigguy, don't you have an intercooler ? i think you do. don't you agree that without an intercooler sucking hot air is a bad idea ? i think it's a bad idea anyway, if i do end up with a cooler i'll still leave my intake where it is. i have to sit at a light for at least 2 minutes before my temps go up, and i know they are rising from the heat in my engine compartment. if my filter was'nt isolated i know it would rise much faster. plus the cooler charge you have before it hits the cooler the more efficiently it should work. e
