Default 3.73 vs 3.90 ?

Trying to decide on a gear ratio, got a Auburn posi to put in and I want to swap gears as well. I can get a set of 3.73's slightly used for about half the cost of the 3.90's. What are some of yalls opinions on the pro's and cons of doing the swap from 3.42 to either ratio, or would it be worth it at all on a daily driver? I really don't know how either one would behave so I would like a little input from folks that know. Thanks in advance.

I am afraid 4.10 would be too much.

If you are drive on the highway much, you may want to go with the 3.73. I know there may be only a couple hundred RPM difference between the two, but it could matter to you. I went from the 3.42 to the 3.73 and was happy.

I just went from 3.42's to 4.10 2 months ago and Im so glad I didnt go for anything less. I honestly didnt see any change in mpg and think its a little better because its easier for me to get to the speed I like. Get the 4.10's the knocked off .4 in the 1/4 in 90 degree weather! Oh yeah I didnt get the LSD yet im still peg-leg but its not hurting me at all! Anything but 3.42's for me is the sh*t Oh yeah 4.10's are not to much and you ahve the 5.3--youll love them!

i went from 3.42s to 3.73s and i WISH i'd gone bigger. 3.90s or 4.10s would be nice. friend of mine has 4.10s with practically the same exact setup and he's consistently .2 quicker than me. his mileage has barely dropped from when he had 3.42s (granted he doesn't drive very hard unless he's racing). go with the 3.90s or 4.10s

I am leaning towards the 3.90. But, I guess there is not much differnce between that and the 4.10. Can't make up my mind.

Some times used gears can whine even when set up propperly. I would go new with a set of gears on what ever you pick.

I currently have 3.42's in my truck and hate them. Just got a set of 4.10 for it and I cant wait till I can get them in.
