Default 3.42 to 4.10 Swap Track Results

I got rid of the tired 3.42 and swapped to 4.10. I have a open diff and DIDN'T get a posi but I will be going back and getting the posi because of the spray but
traction isnt a problem now at all. I lost my 3.42 slip but I know what my time was on the 1/4 --16.442 I went to the track Friday night and my best time was
16.013 and it was the same weather as when I ran with the 3.42 setup which was low 90's and 60 soemthing % humidity! So the gears were good for .42 of the 1/4 so I am very happy! I ran 2 16.01's and the rest were 16.1's and 16.2's!
My trap speed only dropped from 86/87 to 85 so nothing really there!

How hard was installation? Did you have a shop do it, and was the pricing reasonable?

As far as the 60' improvment I cant find my last slips so I cant give you a number but just on the street it feels nice and from a roll its even nicer! I wouldnt even think about trying to do a gear swap with all the little crap it involves so I brought it to a pro and it cost me $455 because I had to replace a pinion bearing on a rear end with 18k on it Also included the normal crush sleeve,80w90 gear oil, ring & pinion, labor!!!!!!!!

How is your high end(say a 70 punch). I am really cinsidering 4.10's but I am really afraid of losing my high end I have right now with my 3.73's.

When I had the 3.42's and was cruising at 70 there wasnt much more it wanted to give me and I dont know if its just me but it seems with the 4.10's that its digging deeper even up high! I tell you this man when I had the 3.42s i was 80-90 on the freeway in the morning and that was fun but it is worth going 65-70(this way my mpg wont change) to have the pull of the line and from a roll. The 4.10's have been fun and Ive only had them for a week!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the way 3.73's pull to and I dont knwo if I would ahve messes with gears if I would have had 3.73's unless I had some money to burn I would have gone with a stall! If I wanted to change from a 3.73 Id have to go 4.56!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
