Default 3.0 pulley, now a fast truck.

I put the 3" pulley on and the ECU that allen sent me.

2 words.

Holy ****.

This is a killer truck now. I towed my 16' landscaping trailer with about 1200 lbs in the bed today and it pulls with ease.

I would say this was more of a difference than when I put the blower on the truck the first time.

Hmmm ... maybe I need to step down one more step with the pulley then.

8.5-9 psi @ 6500 rpm's already sounds freaking wicked! I wonder if it will hold together hitting 17k rpm though.

Should be nasty! How much more can that blower spin?

Congrats on your 'new' truck.

Your comparison (Radix 3.4" -> Radix 3.0" is a greater difference than Stock Truck -> Truck w/Radix) is just what I had suspected. That the way the Radix comes in its 'stock' form is not very impressive, and in order to get the performance desired/expected, upgrading is required. I guess this is what I will need to do in order to get what I want.

Just curious, do you have the stock torque converter, or an aftermarket/higher stall?

I know you will be concerned about the warranty, which will be voided if you swap pulleys.

He has the stock converter.

The install took me about 45 seconds. No BS. I used an impact and pulled the nut off. Loosened the tensioner and a friend slid off the pulley and slid the other one on. Put the nut back on. Cakewalk.

I wouldn't say that it is a greater difference in dyno power or ET. Stock my trucks runs a 15.9 - 16.0 1/4 mile. With blower it went down to 14.35, I would say 1.6 second drop in 1/4 mile is pretty damn impressive. The 14.35 was with a 2.3 60' as well, which I am sure I could get down, and also with a switch from the factory 255 70 16 to a Firestone indie 500 265 70 16, which is obviously a taller tire.

Overall I am definately happy with the radix. Even stock. I am a little dissapointed in the pain it was to get it right. I mailed the blower back and, asside from UPS breaking a couple things on it, magna said it was fine. But, I get the blower back and IAT goes down from getting all the way up to 160 down to a max of 135 even with the outside temperature being 10 degrees hotter.

Doesn't make sense to me. When I ask if the nose piece could have been making excessive heat (they had to replace it since they opened the case of the blower, they said they cannot reuse them) they said it was possible. They still stuck me with a $200.00 shipping charge for sending it back to me VIA overnight. I never ask them to overnight it back to me, they just said they were going to. I didn't know they were charging me shipping again till I got the final bill from them.

Magnacharger had ASK ME to send the blower to them so they could "rule it out as being a problem", since they cannot find any other reason for the low power output. Originally they said they would cover the shipping, even the cost of overnight shipping to them. Then all the sudden its "We can't pay for shipping since there was no problem found with the blower other than the parts that UPS broke." I tend to think that they DID find a problem and fixed it, and just told me NPF to avoid reimbursing me for $400.00 shipping.
