2500HD 6.0 cammed Flo-Pro 2505 Installed!
#1
HI,
Just wanted to give a quick review of this muffler since there are a lot of threads about the dreaded exhaust drone from the 6.0's and how loud they can get with a cat-back. First, a little about my setup:
216/220 .560 lift @ 114LSA cam
Volant CAI
Doug's Shorty Headers (stock cats and mid-pipes, 2500HD's dual 3" factory)
Flo-Pro 2505 HD Big oval
My goal was to get an exhaust that would provide a nice mellow deep tone with NO drone. I also needed it to be on the quite side since I tow a TT up in the Rockies all summer long. I decided to go with the Flo-Pro 2505 HD Big Oval, and man does it fit the bill perfect.
It has a nice bark upon startup, then mellows out as it warms up. By the time its warm you can hear the cam lopping around, but not too much. I have to admit it is LOUDER than I thought it would be, probably due to my Cam, Intake & Shorty headers. I do get some cab noise at around 1600rpm but it quickly vanishes as the rpm's climb with my 4.10 gear
cruising through the RPM range, it has a nice growl to let you know its there, but its not raspy in any way. At highway speeds I have to really listen to hear it, which is exactly what I was going for.
OVER ALL: NO drone, deep, mellow, non-raspy, not too loud, direct Muffler replacement for $220 INSTALLED.

LOL, I'll get a video put up soon, get some popcorn cause your gonna listen a couple of times
before I went with this setup I watched as many posts for this muffler on YouTube as I could find, mine is far louder then any of them...
I was also thinking of getting the " Corsa Touring" catback, but couldn't justify spending $1000 for it. Going to put that money towards some PRC Stage 1 LS6 heads with some milling to get me 10.5 or 11 CR.
It's the factory tip, the muffler is a dual 3" out, then goes into a y pipe with 4" pipe out the factory location.
