Default 243 heads on a 6.0 2500?

Any thoughts? Too high compression for towing?

A slight bump in compression will help but without some tuning and maybe a mild cam you won't really take full advantage of it.

I have a great tuner that's not an issue. But he expressed some concern about pinging on 91 with the stock cam while pulling a load

Has anyone done this? If so is it a direct bolt on? If not what has to be changed? Will the higher compression make it ping while pulling a load?

It's all relative to the quality of the gas and aggressive the tune is.

I have run 87 on a stock tune in my LQ9 which would be roughly the same compression as and LQ4 with 243 heads and experienced no pinging or knock retard under WOT.

It's a Direct bolt on for an LQ4
