Is there a formula that gets close? Or? I am sure converter efficiency has to be calculated to get in the ball park.
I always wondered what my old truck would have done locked and in 3rd vs the 2nd gear pulls. Most people said add 30-35, but I was - and still am skeptical.

I have no idea . I just went with what the tuner said . He tunes a lot of the same vehicles with 4l60e's on the same dyno and said he typically sees about 25hp less in 2nd than 3rd. Again it's just a guess so take it with a grain of salt.
Called the local track and the next time the public can come use the tRack is not until March :/
