Default 241 heads on LQ9??

My buddy has a 2004 RC 2wd he got on a trade..

LQ9
241 heads.. i think stock
LS6 cam
Pacesetter LTs
TB Converter
3.73s
285/50/20 tires

What would you guys say the truck should do?
I did notice the tune is still for a 4.8 so gotta work on that and still on Stock Injectors that are past max.

LQ9 was 345/380 stock??

Waitin for him to get a wideband to make sure everything looks good.

I think it oughta haul ***. Dad ran a set with a little home port work only on an lq9 with a TSP 231/237 and it was strong engine... hauled *** in a 69 camaro lol.

well with the LS6 cam and unknown head work.. assuming they are stock.. its barely faster than a 5.3 tuned truck.

I would think with your tuning skillz and some injectors it should make 340 to 350 rwhp. He already has the cam, turbo it .

scr should be pretty high with 241s on a lq9. And 241s flow decent. I'd say the ls6 cam is way too small. Need to get rid of the tb stall also.

If a tuned 5.3 rcsb is hanging with it, and everything is mechanically sound; I'd guess the tune is garbage.

Oh it is.. i havent had time to log it.. but whoever did the tune had wayyyy too much timing in it.
I pulled about 6* out so it would be around 24* for when he was towing.

Once you get his tune straight, even being undercammed, his truck is going to run pretty good. I've seen a thread on here with a fbo lq4 putting down ~350 rwhp.

I'd guess he'd click off a low 13, maybe a little quicker. Then he'll start talking to you about a cam swap.

A worked 241 one will out run a stock 243, but worked 243 will be way better.
