if you are going to do some good ammount of work on the heads and buy a stall id say go for it,
but there are alot of great cams that will work with littel to no head work, maybe a mill
222 224 or 224 224

It will run fine and run hard with that converter, but for the best performance, it will run alot better with a 3800-4200 converter.

My brother's Chevelle has a 231/237 with mildy ported heads, LS6 intake, and 3500 stall. Pulls hard above 4,000 rpm and could use a looser converter.

Use a smaller cam with that big in a 5.3 your going to need at lease a 4000 stall and a set of heads.

my 224 cam doesnt start shining until 33-3400 rpm and i shift at 6750 rpm... be prepared to spin that thing close to 7k rpm... it will most likely need at leasta 4000 stall
