Default 224R in a 5.3L

Ok I did some searching and didn't really find exactly what I was looking for.

I have a 99 5.3L 4x4, stock right now.

I'm thinking about doing a 224R 116 lsa with a 3500 stall...I'm hoping it won't have a real noticeable idle, but really kick upstairs...I'd actually like to go bigger, but I don't think I could get anything bigger that would idle decent, plus anymore lift and it would be a waste of stock heads.

Shoot me some input, Thanks.

I have a 99 5.3L 2wd with a 224/224 on 112 lsa with a 3200 yank converter.

I like it.

I assume the 112 is super rough idle.

I wonder if anyone has tryed the 116.

I had a 224/224 w/ 114*lsa and it idled smooth, just a very light chop. 116 should be like silk.

lol there's plenty more guys who post more than me. I have 5k+ posts on 2 other websites I use.

and no the 112 lsa doesn't make it idle "rough" it is much choppier though. I'll get a idle clip of it in a bit.

Sweet...If the 114 was real smooth is the 116 overkill?? What are the downsides to a 116

I've got a 224/224 on a 110lsa. I love it. My times suck right now on a stock convertor but on the street from a roll it's damn fun to play around with
