Default 220/220 .564/.564 114+4

ok I didnt get any bites on the other threads... so I'll try it here..

I am getting a good deal on this cam (by comp 220/220 XE lobes (273/273) .564/.564 114+4)

I am currently running a TB converter, (stalls ~2500).... I am no cam guru but is the 114+4 LSA better (low end)than the normal 114LSA, If Im not mistaken the +4 helps on the low end??? or what does the +4 mean?? also will the +4 change the lope sound on it???
also I will be spraying a 100shot in the near future so I got to consider a cam for that as well??

thanks....

The +4 means 4' of advance ground into the cam. This would move the power peak down about 200 rpm and give you better midrange power at the expense of top end HP. This cam should idle pretty good with an advertised duration of 273'/273' (but it also depends on how much overlap it has). I don't know about NOS, but with an 114LSA you should be ok. Hopefully someone else can chime in on that.

I agree with BBT Your going to need every rpm of stall that converter will give. That cam should just start building torque at about the stall rpm. A bit more compression would help, but the NOS will fix any softness in the power curve

Good luck,

Richard
