Default 218/224 .527/.534 114 on a stock tune?

How do you think it will run?

What tables would I mess with in EDIT to get it where it should be?

that should run fair with stock tune, just adjust the idle up a little bit....or drill the tb hole a little larger (very little) i've got a friend running a cam with 226/226 .592/.592 110 in an otherwise stock 5.3 (exhaust) and it idles awesome once the idle was adjusted a little. sounds MEAN...and pulls pretty hard up high. your converter will compliment that cam very well. you could slip a little more lift in there too if that's a custom grind or something.

I think you might wish you had some 4.10 gears to improve the throttle response around town but it'll run great when you nail the gas.

It's actually a used cam I'm picking up for half the price of a new cam. Otherwise I would have given it a little more lift. 1.8 rockers may be in order too.

maybe stock LS6 springs, why take a chance on floating the valves.I thought you were planning on using high revs.

Whitt ... yes and no ... I was thinking about going with a little bit more of a cam and trying to spin it up to 7k. I think this one will probably pull hard to 6500 at the most.

Some nice Rod bolts may come as well before I up the rev limiter.

I think I'd go for some Comp valve springs with titanium retainers and bump the lift a little more. Are you planning any boost in the future?

i would go with a set of 918s and ti retainers and hardened prods if you plan to rev the hell out of it. i have LS6 springs and stock retainers with comp rods on my setup now and it runs great. no noise.

Just make sure they are 2002 and up LS6 springs. They are good for up to .600 lift. The 2001's are only good for .540 lift. Error on the safe side. No need to change the retainers for now. But you may want to take some of the other guys advice and step up to some hardened pushrods ($100-140) to be safe.
