2013 LC9 Oil Cooler Question
I have a 2013 LC9 that I'm transporting into a twin-turbo F-body project. The engine came out of a Silverado that was equipped with an oil cooler.
There is an aluminum block that mounts directly above the oil filter to route oil forward through two lines to the cooler. The block has an internal hex plug on one side. When I remove the plug, there is some sort of spring-loaded valve visible inside. My question is:
Is this a thermostat or does it serve another purpose (pressure relief, check valve, etc)? I'm hoping it's a thermostat so I don't have to run an external one, but I can't tell from looking at it.

not a Thermostat, its a pressure valve
if swapping into a car ditch that oil cooler setup
also being a 2013 LC9 the motor is VVT and DOD so youll need to ditch all that, The truck oil pan also has a oil relief valve casted into the pan. this will need removed as well if using truck pan
