2008 crew cab engine swap?
#1
i have a 2008 4.8 crew cab. i just wanted to make sure that i can swap a 6.0 in it just like in the nbs. from what i searched you can, i was wanting to make sure I could. the goal with the truck is to get into the mid to low 8's.the only thing i have for it is a 3200 stall. what else would i need?

in the 8th sorry about that. your 212/218 cam how loud is it? i want a cam but dont want it to be heard. my 99 with the hotcam lopes its *** off and i dont want that. would i have to put gears in it? 3.23 right now.

well if you dont want the cam to be heard then you need one with a higher lsa like around 115 - 118. should hardly be any lope with that...

mine is on a 114....and you could barely hear it with the stock exhaust and cats. it sounds good now after headers/no cats..... just get you a nice cam like 212/218 or 216/220.. keep it on a 115-117 LSA, and it wont lope....you will get good power early in the curve and keep it throughout the curve, regear to at least 3.73, and a little spray and you are in the 8's all day.
look up charlie wheatley, he is a CC with 5.3, with a cam/header/stall and a bit of juice running 8.0x in the 1/8th.... it can be done, and is less trouble than swapping engines and possibly PCM's.
