Default 2002 PCM in a 99 Truck question!

Few people know Im having some issues with my truck. Im thinking its a PCM deal. So, I have a guy giving me a 2002 PCM. Its from a 2002 Burban with a 5.3. Will that PCM work in my truck or not? Im going to use it to see if it solves my problems. I do know I will have to do the secutity relearn.

It will work. But I can say from experience that I had a PCM from a 01 that I put in my 00. It worked great, but I do get the battery light on constantly. Im not sure why. Everything else seems fine.

Only reason I want to try this is because I dont want to update my 99 PCM if it isnt gonna help. I want to try the PCM first. Ill give it a shot.

not sure how edit works but if it just runs off of the Vin I can't see how it would change things. Didn't someone post on here about having a problem with edit after a dealership updated their truck? What if you have the 02 computer flashed with your VIN, would you still need to have your edit updated?

Thats normal. You can turn it all off too. Read your trucks manual

You can change it to do different things. Lock when put in P ... unlock when stopping. Etc, there are a few options.
