Since your time/speed in the 1320 don't seem to matter, I think long-tube headers and a good tune are pretty much all you need. As stated before, an appropriate cam could help in whatever RPM range you want you power to 'come on' but obviously involves a certain amount of internal work. With the right tools, you don't actually open the motor up...you just slide the old cam out and the new one in.

I was buying all the small stuff, like a KN FPIK, ASP pulllis and a superchips tune. The only thing that I noticed a differance from was the tune but it was only becasue of the shift points a firmness. I bought a cam and stuff, then i sold the TR220. After I bought the Dynatech headers I realized I had wasted my money on small stuff that really hasnt made a differance. With all the bolt on and cam stuff I could already have had a supercharger. If I were you I would leave the torque converter alone if you dont want to make it fast and just buy the Radix. They are a dependable, they make boost at low rpms so it will help the Tahoe accelerate better, and make a good 120 rwhp.

how much does the radix go for?

also i didn't want a ton of power were my tires would be spinning all the time, how is just regular driving with the charger?

how about when it snows, does the truck still drive well with all that power?

Radix has a vacuum controlled bypass valve that allows the supercharger to freewheel until it sinces a drop in vacuum associated with hard accellaration. It literally drives like a stock truck until you put your foot into it.They are a sponsor, click on their link to the right and check out their website.

Don't waste your time with resistor crap or other backyard mods. If you want to make some real power, go with a charger, or a cam. Get a real PCM tune from nelson or pcmforless too.

another reason i was staying away from a charger was the price. i don't have $3-$4 grand to spend at this moment, i recently bought the truck for straight out cash, and i invested more than the trucks value in a stereo, and rims.

maybe next summer i will add a charger. in the meantime i was trying to look for some cheap ways to gain some HP.
