Default cam ? for 4.8L

I have an '04 single cab 5spd w/ a 4.8L . Will a ls1 cam and intake match up? I have been told that it does. If anyone has any info please let me know.

They do fit, but all you will accomplish is killing low end torque. Do some more research on this board. The truck intake should flow fine for almost anything you do with the 4.8. Also, the car intakes require the car accessory drive pulley set in order to clear the throttle body.

an ls1 cam will give you a little more power, but an ls1 intake actually flows worse than the stock truck intake. IMO, an ls1 cam is some good cheap hp

i think for the amount of labor you will be doing, might as well stab a cam that actually makes a difference.

i have your same setup and make 332rwhp with an 01 LS1 cam & springs...when you do the deal, pull the heads and have a little bowl work done and mill .025" off...put on some e-fans and a pulley, along with a tune...it wont set off any codes and will run great...fact is, i challenge ANYONE with a NA 4.8 or 5.3

If you want to do an inatke at least do the LS6 to make it worth your while and even then it really wont be worth it. The truck inatke is probably the best for the truck motors. I as well as alot of others put the Comp 212/218 cam in and were pleased. It is pretty streetable with the 4.8- I only had mine in for 2 weeks untill I put the 4.8 down to sleep! I really liked it b ut you can always go bigger in the 4.8!
