Default 2000 truck-06 lq9, will the computer work????

okay guys,heres the deal, i finally got a 6.0!!!! it came out of an 06' 2wd ss truck. igot everything with it including wireing harness and ecu.my truck has a 5.3 in it now.so i guess what im trying to ask is,'can i just plug up to the ecu that came with it? or do i have to use mine? any other tips would be greatly appreciated..

Yes your 5.3 ecu will work with it, but you will have to flash a tune to it for the 6.0

Reuse all of your stock accessories, including harness and PCM. Sell off the newer ones to make some money back. Some of the sensors and crap are different between the years, as well as the fact that the 06 is DBW and yours has a cable TB.

so would i just go to get a flashed at a dealer,or go get a custom map? i mean can they just flash my ecu to work with that motor,or do i need to get a shop to custom map it? iam also thinking about putting a cam in,but im not sure which way to go? i have

You'll want a custom tune, especially if you put a cam in it.

yep, you can just swap intakes or swap the throttle body and driver's side fuel rail, plus you'll need to get some threaded inserts to hold down the throttle cable retaining plate that bolts to the top of the intake....that's what i did, may others seem to just swap over intakes.
