Default 1500hd Sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 1500HD will get a MAX of 13.2 MPG if I keep it steady on the highway about 25 feet behind a semi going 60-65mph. If I just cruise at 70mph and not tuck in behind someone it will only get 11.5mpg. Whats up with these lousy numbers? Also, my yukon weighs a couple hundred lbs more, has higher gears, and a smaller motor, yet it just plain stomps the HD.

I have a 28' trailer and boat I pull and my Yukon pulls it great and gets over 17mpg pulling it, while the HD seems to want to downshift on every hill and gets about 9mpg. Is this a normal problem guys with HD's have or is the one I have just a turd?

i had a chevy 1500hd and got about 14 mpg with the cruise control at 70 mph. it had a flowmaster 70 2 1/4 dual in/ dual out muffler. sounded great and hauled ***. would invest in one for more power and mpg. would also suggest a cold air intake system. hope this helps.

because i do so much driving I get tired of filling up so often, plus once I hit a certian milage I can either keep it and start paying for gas or get rid of it and get something else. Right now I fill up between 1-3 times a day. When I drove my Yukon I would go 650 miles before the gas light would come on, this truck is lucky to see 250 miles on a tank.
