I need to know, I can get my hands on thes things. I thought they were only good for 2400rpm's?
here are the specifics on the turbo he is using. I will cut and paste from the email.......straight from the horses mouth.

'The turbo sizing can be quite complicated.
The ones I have are Garrett TV7701.
They came from a Mack Truck semi diesel engine.
A diesel turbo is made to spool up quick because diesels have a narrow power band.
The ones I have work good and spool up quick
0 to 17 lbs in 1 second,
but I am going to switch to a slightly different turbine housing to slow them down slightly and try to tame the beast a little.
You can get a good price on rebuilt diesel turbos from East Coast Turbo.
Give me a call if you want some more info.
I've learned a lot about what to do and not to do with the EFI systems since I have done this project. '

Yes, they do spool fast. Something like full boost by 1500-1600 rpm on a 3116 CAT engine. But I thought they run out of steam by 2400-2500 rpm.?

I personally saw the tach in his boat go to 7800 rpm on 540ci and they never ran out of steam. the boost actually stayed pretty steady. it has pretty big waste gates on the turbos. it is an awesome setup and homemade. it sounds like a freaking jet engine at 7800rpm. if you look close he actually has 2 throttle bodies to keep up with the turbos.

I have gone 196 on my ZX-9 and 164 in my Lightning. Not sure in the 1994 Chevy because it has that sweet 85 mph speedo. Probablly 120-130ish.
