Here's the info on the belt from GMPartsDirect.com:

Part: 12576451
Unit Price: $27.23
SHIPPING: $7.95
TAX: $0.00
TOTAL WITH TAXES: $35.18

Unfortunately, I'm gonna be away this weekend, so I won't get a chance to work on the truck if the alternator arrives...leaving Thursday night. (unless of course the alternator shows up tomorrow...then that's a whole new story )
Yep thats who I got mine from.

Guess what...It works!!! (did it tonight after work) Piece of cake, bolts right in...hardest part was running the serpentine belt with a fresh tattoo on my right wrist and forearm...it's still pretty sensitive. You just need the longer belt GM part#12576451 Wahoo!

Well, for me, it allowed me to use an 02 PCM in my 99 without having a flashing battery light. (the 02 PCM's are better than the 99's, and aren't as prone to false knock). The 02 and up system has an extra wire that runs from the PCM to the alternator, and just running that wire didn't turn off the flashing battery light that occurred upon installation of the 02 PCM. Turns out that the 02 PCM has some sort of duty cycle circuit in it and the 02 and up alternators are different...or maybe the higher amp alternators are different. Either way, this alternator was the last link in curing my flashing battery light.

The main advantage for most is that it is a higher amp rated alternator, which will allow you to add more electrical accessories without causing a drain that your electrical system can't handle (sound system, electric fans, etc.)

While doing this upgrade, upgrade the wire from the Alt to the terminal with at least a 4ga wire. Also add another ground of equal size from the (-) terminal to a good ground.

That alone will make a big difference in the output.
