At the first ls1truck race day at SAR a guy had a Tahoe launching in 4wd with a smallish cam no stall 3.73 gears and a health shot of spray. He ran consistant mid 12s. In a Tahoe you can really drop weight quick. I'm not sure what he weighed, but daily trim could be cut by 500lbs really quick. Anyways I would bet with a decent cam, some boltons, a stall, and some spray could get you into the 12s if you can get traction.

Gamble, you talking remove the seats? Plus the Tahoe is 4linked, so should help for hooking. A TBSS is 4800 IIRC, but they have more potential out of the ls2. I wouldnt mind spraying, but maybe like a 100shot. I'm guessing a 6.0 would help me get there easier.

I believe he is talking about the weight reduction...

-3rd row is gone in seconds...
-the 2nd row folds down, but should be removed for the weight. Or leave the smaller seat.
-hitch can be removed
-spare tire can be lost

but why? lol
I lost my 3rd row and spare, and its plenty improved already, and If i do get passengers my 2nd row is still there.

-The Ls2 is a nice engine.
-The 6.0 is a nice start. If the compression gets up to 11.1 its essentially a LS2

The TBSS guys switch to 317 heads to go BOOST for more power... So you have to pick your poison. Your, 6l is fine till you get tired of it, and want more... then you need FI.... when you get tired of that, turn UP the BOOST.... It keeps going....

I was going to stay NA 6.0 with 6.2 heads with more compression than a Ls2. (11.5:1) But decided to keep compression to Lq9 standards, and boost this bitch. (10.3:1) with my L92 (6.2) heads and intake with Cam.
Im shooting for 11s in the beast next year... My truck is plenty fast already with just a modded 6.0. But with the weight of the 80e, it eats some power. thus the need to generate even more power. Those who have done the swap knows... but its better than replacing 10 plus transmissions. Im only on my 2nd 80e. lol

with the weight of a SUV, they never should come with a 60e.

I'm not sure where those numbers came from, but I put my '01 ECSB 4x4 on a scale a couple years back. Full street weight, 5740 pounds, including 20's, 1/2 tank of gas, added weight of the MP112, and me in the driver seat (165#'s), audio system, etc. but I don't think that accounts for the 1,000 pounds difference.

You would be right because there's not supposed to be a 4 there LOL.

I pulled the weight values off the internet.
