Was @ hallsville saturday and tried the new nitrous setup and all I can say is DAMN! Ran 12.75 @ 109mph. the sad thing is that it was on low bottle pressure. Went out there with one bottle and after 4-5 passes I was dissipointed with slower E.T.'s than with smaller shot & warmer temps. Finally Brad @ B&M racing jumps in & runs a 12.88. WTF! He sprayed both nitrous stages in 1st, so I jumped in with a 1/2 empty cool bottle & run a 12.75 @ 109 mph. the set-up is pretty easy heres how:
I have the dry shot screwed into the end of the K&N fipk filter, this is turned on with a toggle switch on my dash. the wet shot is connected to a NOS button switch that is activated by itslef. I have the tnt nozzle screwed into the fipk air duct.
I am spraying the 70 shot right off the line & the 100 shot comes in after about 20 feet.I have 22 dgrees of timing dialed in. I am also running a 245/50r16 goodyear eagle rsa worn out tires to drop my gear ratio down to about 4.42 which puts me @ the top of third crossing the traps.
One last detail I also was running straight race gas, I had a combo of 5 gallons of 112 low lead & 5 gallons of 102 unleaded. I tried a 220 shot once but spun way to bad off the line. The set-up was cheap & this motor really loved the spray. next weekend will be back out there & with good bottle pressure I am sure 12.50's are achievable
- the dry shot is a nos nozzle with a .42 jet installed which is about a 70 shot
- the wet shot is a 100 TNT kit
