Im no expert, but it looks like the heads were lifting up. I dont think it was to lean, just hot as hell. I say get new gaskets, torque them to 10lbs over specs, get cooler plugs, look into some methonol additive(i use it and love it), and try it again.

Some may think its crazy, but its what were all after right?

I'd just hate to see someone blow a motor because they were fed bad information.
