Youi may have to unbolt it and pull it completly out then reinstall after the header is on. That is what I had to do with my Hamms.

One bolt holds the top to the head then the bottom slides out of the block. Mine was a pain to get back in but not impossible. Lube up that seal before you stick the dipstick back in and that may help some.

Yeah, it's super easy. Just unbolt the bracket from the engine then twist the dipstick tube until it comes loose and lift it out. Even if it breaks they are pretty cheap at the dealer. Good luck!

It was super easy for my old truck and Hamm headers. My new one was a PITA with the ASM headers. Headers went on fine, but I had hell getting the oil tube fully back in the block.

yea it is a pain to do with asm's. what i did was get the header close but not attached and wiggled the dip stick around. o and do your self a favor and disconect the batery so if you acidentaly stab the starter with the stick you are not going to be welding.

Damn ... sorry I missed this!

I had to grind down the bracket part to fit on. I got another bolt and used it, I just screwed it into the hole until it hit the header. The dipstick tube moves around some ... but it works fine. Both of mine have just slide in and out. Pull the dipstick out BEFORE you pull it out of the hole though. It can hit the starter and cause some nice sparks ... yes, this is a voice of experience.

These guys covered it well. The only thing I'd recommend is changing your oil soon to get rid of the dipstick guide inside the oil pan that seems to pop off.
