Default 1 7/8 worth the change?

I know its a no brainer for my application, but since the truck came with those 1 3/4's how much power would I gain by switching to 1 7/8's on this blown 427?

is it worth the 1000+ dollars for headers shipped to Dubai? a 10 wheel hp gain isnt going to cut it, any suggestions?

Other than your headers, what is the rest of your exhaust?

You would probly see a gain on the dyno but probly not on the seat of the pants meter.. if there was a nice gain it would probly be in the upper rpm's anyway.

I don't really think it will be worth it to you for the amount that it will cost you, unless you're trying to set some record or beat someone that you're really close to now

I didnt wanna mention that, but since you asked, its a dual 2.5" to single 3" y-pipe with a split exit + high-flow catted.

the 1 3/4 I have has a 3inch merge collector, so im fabricating a catless true dual exhaust with x-pipe to replace the crap thats on the car right now. The biggest restriction the way I see it is the exhaust atm.

I might do the headers in the future, unless anyone thinks they would make a good deal of power increase. I also got a blower cam that has specs that are unheard of, specced by the cam god which requires a freeflowing exhaust. hell Im maxing out my 65lbs injectors already, I think ill stop modding at 90% duty cycle, then maybe a few pullies for next year since the truck runs about 8psi with the crap exhaust and definitely less than that with the new exhaust.

Yeah, i would say your main problem is the exhaust and not so much the headers.. if you have the cash and the time then do the header swap but imo i dont think you would get a "noticeable" difference in the 1 7/8 vs 1 3/4.. but with that engine and it blown you deff need to open up your exhaust alittle more.

i would change the hole exhaust for somthing better suited to a superchargerd 427
i heard of a big exhaust shop in dubai that will do a full exhuast for 10k- 12k AED
I think its called FOX
if i were you i would go all the way to 2" prims to dual 3" .
nothin beats a custom job done by pros and i hear good things about FOX too

i think you should mimick stews (TXsilverado) old set-up.
1 7/8" stepped 2" headers. With 3" dual exhaust.
Thats probably as high flowing as your going to get.

If you're running any kind of mufflers, they are way more of a hindrance than small tube headers. You would, no doubt, see some good gains running open headers. Once you hook it up to just about any type of civilized exhaust system, I'd bet the gains would disappear.

skip out on the X pipe and just run a H pipe. i would go for some TSP 1 7/8 headers. best bang for buck out there.
