Default 1/4 Mile times

I have a 2000 reg cab sportside Z71, it has a throttle body spacer, flowmaster and just a K&N filter. On a stop watch I run about a 7.0-7.5 0-60 but I really want to improve my times. I have never been to the track with it but plan on going this spring or summer. I was curious how much spray can a stock 5.3 hold up to and when using it quite often. I was also wondering what you think of the Nelson tune. I have heard a lot of good things about it but wanted a little more info on it. Any other ideas that can help me improve my times are greatly appreciated but right now im trying to do it on a pretty small budget. I have a lot of plans for this truck but right now im really strapped for cash. Please give me your info on everything

well what are the plans for the truck? you could do a trailblazer converter. but if you plan on getting a big cam you might want a bigger stall. nelson tune worked great on my truck. not to sure how much spray you can do.

I dont have any tuning experience and go through about one ten pound bottle every 2 weeks with a 100 shot and Ive had no issues that I know of. It seem perfect for someone that wants a little get up and go

other plans for my truck are a locking diff and maybe 4.10 gears because i think that will help a lot for get up and go, then a nelson tune or something of that sort, later on a cam, ls6 heads and ls6 intake and throttle body. Then i would go from there but i really want to eventually end up spoolin one or two tbos or atleast like a whipple superchager. I will also need a good stall. it will take while for everything to come together but im really going to try to make this truck really nasty. i no im in for a lot more when i get up in them hp numbers like different rear end and different tranny and stuff like that but ill just wait till then for that thanks for ur info anymore is wanted
