Default I know I'm just dreamin', but I have a t-56 question.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted on here, but I have a question for ya. Has anyone every heard of anyone who has swapped a t56 6-speed into a '99+ Silverado that started life as a five speed manual? I know it may not be the most practical thing, I was just wondering if anyone hs done it and if it's possible. Thanks.

Check with 6gear and retsell. Both of them have successfully done it. Also I know desTRUCKtive has researched the crap out of it, so he could help too.

It is possible, and if you have a 5spd its even easier. The only issue I see is with clutch life, because of the weight of the truck.

it is possible for a 5.3/6.0 truck to have a t-56. if its an auto, all you do is put on a 5.7 flywheel and it will work, but since yours is a 5-speed, it might already have the same flywheel on it. check with a car dealership parts department. see if the parts numbers are the same.
