hey guys i am new too the site and the ls style motor in general do alot of subaru stuff. So i have an 07 silverado 4x4 5.3 auto with 80,000 miles and looking too make it alittle more entertaining to DD. So far i have gibson tublar headers exhaust and intake with spacer. From what i have researched with a intake manifold, injectors, cam, heads and a good tune I can make decent power was wondering if i could hit 500hp with this and still be okay as a daily and will the tranny hold it? any input would be awesome forced induction isnt out of the picture just trying too make it n/a.

350rwhp is about max on a 5.3, streetable anyways

on the trans it depends if you have the 4 or 6 speed, 6 speed will be stronger

 

He has a 4 speed being an 07.

You'll be quite a ways away from your goal unless you go nitrous or forced induction. They can be stout motors n/a, but 500 likely isn't going to happen.

 

350rwhp wouldnt be bad i was thinking supercharger in a year or so but wanted to do head cams intake and fuel right now and was wondering how far that could get me and i do tow with the truck. Any brands or combinations i should lean towards?

 

Do you not have a tune right now with headers?

 

no i do not i know i probably really need one but the truck has no programmer or anything on it right now

 

mine made 372rwhp, and had about everything a 5.3 could have and keeping it streetable.

It could happen BUT it will be VERY expensive and you will lose drivability. Just spray

 

talk to spike performance. they could make it happen. i dont know about your tanny though.
