Default '07 5.3L into a '00 w/ 4.8L?

First off, hello. This is my first post on this forum (great site BTW). I bought a 5.3L & 4L65E w/ 500 miles from an '07 Avalanche. The shop I bought them from was going to put it in a street rod for a guy and have already swapped the lifters, plugged the oil holes for disp.-on-demand, & bolted on 862 heads. Also has cable style TB. Is there anything else I need or need to do to swap it into my '00 4.8L ECSB? I plan on doing some other mods to the engine and trans. before I do, so I will have them apart & go ahead, take care everything I need to.

You should be able to just bolt it in a tune it and go. Your just swapping in another V-8, so you dont have to worry about the stuff the V-6 to V-8 guys have to.

dustin, quit misinforming people! 07 nbs engines have 58x crank reluctors, and 4x cam reluctors, not to mention diff knock sensors in diff locations and the cam sensor in the front of the engine not the back.

That is correct, not a direct plug and play...I guess that the PCM and harness would need to be swapped also...or the crank and something creative for the cam sensor...

Thanks for the responses. After some research, looks like I can swap out the reluctor wheel (with a special alignment tool), but I may be leaning towards building a 383 with this engine, so I can take care of the crank issue then. As far as the cam & knock sensors, Caspers & Katech make a combination cam/knock sensor adaptor harness for putting an LS2 into F-bodies. I'm looking into see if it will work with trucks (will call Katech). I'm in no hurry with the engine, mainly the trans. Thanks again for the help. More input is welcome.
