I can grab the flywheel and it turns over smooth, gotta wait till a engine stand frees up so I can start tearing into it, I was just gonna get a cheap case of oil and put it in there for the time being, I dont see me being able to get at this thing till it gets a tad warmer anyways.

This pig is dirty, got the heads off and the cylinders look good, but anybody got a way to clean out the engine with out removing the crank and pistons?
I really dont wanna take it down to a bare block, the heads are getting a bath and new valve seals.

Pictures?

Are you just talking about carbon build-up on the pistons?

You should have seen it when I first pulled the valley off....I still havent pulled the pan off yet, no stand yet, I'm thinking this thing must have sat outside in the truck or just out side in general.

I really am thinking about dropping it off and getting a hone/rings/bearings for it,just in my area there are not too many engine guys out there that do the LS series of engines.
