Default 06 lq4....

Have a chance to get a complete pull out for 1200 bucks....only catch is it has 92,000 miles on it.......I'm thinking as long as the bottom end is sound would anybody else be scared of the miles?

Was right in the middle of a cam swap for the 4.8 but I got a call from the local yard saying he just got this in, Do I.....

A.pass

B. get it and pull the heads and do the swap I had planned for the 4.8 but only use the 6.0 in it's place, would only take unbolting the trans and motor mounts to get the 4.8 out.

The one thing I'm worried about is I do the swap over, cam all that stuff, put it in,turn key.............KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.

Is that really that a lot of miles? Hell I"m at 92,000 on the little 4.8 and it has been rock solid, but I dont know the history with this 6.0.

Anything I can look out for if I get it? I'm gonna pull the heads no matter what.
Dosent seem like that bad of a deal, and he would drop off for me too.

Only 1 way to find out.. Pull the heads, check cylinders. While its on the stand. spin it upside down, pull the caps off to check the bearings. If they look good, pull the cam, again check the journals. If they all look good, maybe replace the oil pump, roll with it. My engine came from a totaled 2005 2500 that was hit in the right front side. I didn't even check the mains or anything. Said F it. Hit the cylinders with a scuff pad, had the heads done, didn't *** with a oil pump and put it in. 4+ years and still going strong(knock on Wood)

There ya go Paulie...my brother LowNslo is dealing with the same thing. He bought a LQ4 without knowing the history but hes checking all the vitals before he does the install.

Supposedly 11k. If you have all that for it already, I would take a shot at it. I bought mine sight unseen off ebay..

I put 200k on a stock 6.0 and it was flawless. Started using about .5 to a quart of oil there at the end but I'd def go with the 6.0!
