Default '04 Subruban times

Hey guys;
Took out my dad's suburban with edelbrock shortie ceramic coated headers, corsa sport exhaust, AEM Brute force intake system, '05 electric fans, and Superchips tuner and ran on the G-tech a 0-60 of 7.0 with a 1/4 mile of 15.4-15.5. I say that's not bad in a sub and he gets 24 mpg.

Hmm, you need to go do a REAL measurment of gas milage. By tracking milage on the trip and dividing it from the amount of gas it took you to refil it since you started tracking the milage. I can guarantee you are not getting 24mpg in a gas driven Burban.. Those DIC things are not very accurate if you don't understand how they work. My C5 Corvette would max out at 29mpg on the freeway but if you actually track the milage I would usually avg. 25mpg or 23 if I did mixed driving. Hell my 4.8L RCSB only gets 17-19mph at it's best. Those DIC things really mess with peoples minds when it comes to gas milage.

Also the GTech is not super accurate and if it's on e of the old old models then expect to run a mid 16 at the track. LOL

Got pics of it though? Tricked out Suburbans are sweet!

Yep, that's a pretty shocking time for a Suburban with those mods!

As far as the gas mileage, I'd say he could maybe, MAYBE average 13-15mpg. My Yukon averages 13mpg with mixed, mostly city driving and that's only getting on it once in a while. Maybe 14 with some freeway trips. With the turbo it certainly hasn't gone down.

Damn! 24 MPG sounds too good to be true! I can't imagine getting 750 miles out of one full tank of gas. My Suburban gets anywhere from 13-16 MPG... but with my lead foot, I can only get about 400 miles before the gas light comes on.
