03 GMC needs a motor

I woldnt kick a good used LQ4 out of bed, all tuned out, it's within 5 hp of the higher output LQ9(just under 400hp on the engine dyno). Stock Lq4 is 300hp/360 lb/ft in the HD's or 320hp/370 lb/ft from the Denali's and the LQ9 from the B4V 2wd "Peformance Package"(04-07) 2wd/AWD Siliverado SS, Escalade(all forms) and newer GMC vehicles.
Both a good engines, and after 2004, the only difference is the 9.4:1 CR and 10:1 CR as both engines got the better rods(LS2).

Thanks for the info guys. It's all really helpful as I'm inthe very early stages. Been doing some thinking and saw a very interesting thread by bigredwagon99 about building an E85 motor. Starting to think that'll be the way I'll go.

you should beable to swap the motor in a day... its a direct swap.. IT WILL RUN on your stock tune... just swap long blocks... now for optimal performance you would wanna get it dyno tuned... but i went 6 months... even drag raced the truck on the stock tune after i swapped in the 6.0
