Default 02 vs 99 PCM ** update

Well, just throwing this out again to see if anything is new.
I have posted this before as well as 99silverado5.3,

Thanks to Nelson Performance my Truck is running great with all my current mods
BUT, I have a Tuned 02 pcm in My 99 StepSide.
I did this after fighting KR and lossed Timing, regardless of what I did w/99.
With tuned 99 = I saw 10 deg and 8*knock wot @ Iat 80-90 ==93 octane
With tuned 02 = no kr and 24-27 Deg wot @ Iat 80-90 ==93 ocatne

Now the catch, I'm getting the flashing battery light and a tech II was unable to clear it. I'm assuming the pcm is not agreeing with the bcm. The tech II was unable to do a few thing because of the new vin. The operator wasn't the sharpest tool so I might go somewere else.
Anyways,
I did a cylinder and top engine clean as well as new knock sensors.
I have another 99 Tuned pcm Allen just sent me so I can try it out.
I'm keeping my fingures crossed that it cures the problems and gives me the performance of the 02. I will throw it in Tommorow.

***If it doesn't work would getting a 02 BCM out of a truck with similiar mods cure the flashing light if I keep the 02 pcm????
****My truck is a base model!!!
window cranks and door locks, no air, no power anthying! I can't see having a problem with getting 02 bcm out of a similiar truck or ordering one from the dealer.(I get stuff at cost). I already have a 02 Escalade cluster which prolly helps.
No egr and cats.

Just thought I would throw it out there.
I'm going to put the new update 99 in tomorow.

Thanks guys.
Big tex has posted links before and was wondering if any of those guys were here now?

Why not try changing the VIN in the '02 PCM to match the original VIN that is still in the BCM?

I was thinking of trying a new BCM too. I emailed a guy a while back about it because he changed his BCM t one from a Denali. Here is his reply:

"The BCM will not fix the battery flashing. That is missing wiring
and a differnet alternator from the '01-02 and the '99-00. working on a fix
but not yet. Also. your '99 has smaller fuel injectors. The '02 PCM can
compansate for it but you are making it work harder all the time because of
less fuel than it thinks it should have. You can replace your injectors with
injectors from ANY '00-02. 5.3 or 6.0... NOT a 8.1 they are different. it
will also help the runablity of the truck. You can find them on ebay all the
time. I got mine off ebay for 47.00. They just so happen to be from Jesse
James Hummer from West Coast Choppers. Pretty cool.
The BCM can be from any '00-02 silverado tahoe yukon denali or whatever. It
will fix the augtounlock problem on the '99 as well. Again.. Ebay I payed
about 20.00-25.00 for mine."

Im not sure what to think anymore. But I aint taking out the 02 PCM.

Well that explains the code for terminal f that is not listed in my 99 manual.
As far as injectors and tuning that is taken care of. Its just the battery light im trying to take care of.

As far as differant wiring from the Alternator, That would make sense. Ther's always something
There's got to be a schematic somewhere around here, I have the one for my 99.
I think taking the vin off the pcm and programing an 02 bcm may night work if its looking for a wire trhat isn't there.

I have the same problem with my 02 PCM in my 00.

Do you guys ever get the ABS and parking brake lights staying on once in a while? Ive been getting that and I was told it was because of the PCM also, but for how she runs im leaving the PCM

I have gotten the abs light on twice now, always after full throttle max runs on the interstate. It went away after shutting the Truck down.
The Truck is becoming really ghetto, oh well.

Todays Update, couldn't get the 99 pcm to work after 3 attempts to do the theft relearn. Love the Optima red Top.

I'm going to see if I can get a schematic on the 2002 wiring Harness to see where it differs from my 99. Anyone???
My Alternator only has one Brown wire out the top. I feel like I own a 98 F-body. How do people get around this stuff when throwing in a new motor/pcm in an older platform.
