Ive got an 01 tahoe that is bone stock. I want it to make 400+ on heads and cam. Is it possible? I have a built 4l60 laying in the garage so i dnt need a tranny. Ive got a budget of $5,000. Ive looked on the forum to find out most people either run just a cam or some mild ported heads and cam, and make about 280hp-330hp. Let me know.

It seems like you have a pretty good understanding of what it takes.

For your budget, I'd swap in a 6.0L ($1500), add some TSP ported 5.3s ($1200) and something like a 224 or 228 cam. That should put you well over 400rwhp with money leftover for a nice torque converter. Or you could just put a magnacharger on your 5.3 and get the 400rwhp.

 

Better off doing a radix with the $5000. Get a used kit for 3500 or so, a stall, and a good tune.

 

well i was hoping not to go FI, i wanted to keep the 5.3 in the car. Is it possible to get the 5.3 to 400HP on heads and cam?

 

I'am looking to do some mods 2 my 05 tahoe.i like your style.

 

cam, heads full boltons and some nitrous youll get 400. its going to take more cubes without FI or nitrous.

yes its been done a couple times...i made 350 cam only with headers and dual exhaust
