I'd check and make sure that when you turn the key on, the check engine light illuminates...if not, there may be a PCM power issue or something smoked in the PCM?

*EDIT* I'm not sure about the oil pressure, but I'd assume that if anything the PCM *should* cut fuel instead of spark...

I've checked almost all the fuses under the hood and inside. I've moved the relays around also.

I'll check the temp gauge, I know it's plugged up, but I'll check the wires going to it.

No .. they're working, cause the ECT is reading 70*

You sure its not the vats. We were having this problem with my buddies 97 truck when we put the 5.3 in it. Truck would crank and crank.

I think the VATS is a good guess. If Im not wrong, the VATS kills spark.

VATS relearn:

30 Minute Learn Procedure
1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON; the vehicle will not start.
3.Observe the SECURITY telltale; after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes; the vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.

Important
The vehicle learns the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.

Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password.
With a scan tool, clear any DTCs, if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.

you didn't pull a grippy and removed the entire engine harness?

Trans getting power?

have you tried starting it in neutral?

if the trans is in reverse, do the reverse lights come on?

I'm sure that those have nothing to do with it, but that's what I'd try
