Default "service 4wd" indicator on?

After pulling away from a stoplight the dash flashed "service 4wd." and the 2HI and 4 wd indicator light turned off. Truck ran fine, i've never run the truck in 4wd before. After stopping in for lunch the light didn't come back on. Checked stored data, no trouble codes. Their was a TSB but doesn't apply to MY03 and would have left a Body code (ie B2047). Anyone else had "service 4wd" come on?

I've had them a few times. Usually after I've messed with something. Once for a loose ground wire. Once when I messed with the transfer case. Never had it do it on its own.

Mine has been on for over a month on my 03 2500hd with push button 4wd. The dealer gave me a paper explaining it.I cant find it now ,but basically there is a voltage signal too high causing the 4wd to shut off. They said there is no fix for it now but as soon as there is they will mail you a recall notice. It sucks when you spend $40000 on a broken truck !

Wow the dealer told me I was the only one.My 03 has done this about 10 times.Anyone have a TSB #,my dealer never volunteers anything, that would help a bunch.I never had any problems with 4 wheel drive working though.

Thanks for everyones input. That was a couple days ago and I havn't had a problem since. Monday when I get back in the shop i'll get you the TSB # off shop key. I think if you look up on google it may find the TSB on "all data."
