Default Z71 w/ tow package, rear end

I'm looking for a replacement for a 99 Silverado's rear end. I'm pretty sure a third member is all I need, but I'm not sure what kind of axle I have from the factory. DANA? 12 Bolt? None of the above?

Tru-Trac or the Eaton LSD

I have the Eaton LSD, but honestly the Tru-Trac has no clutches to wear, and being that they are the same price might as well go with the Tru-Trac.

Where can you pick one up? And this thing is pretty much drop-in?

i got my truetrac on ebay. summit racing has them as well. if you're replacing just the differential, it should drop in provided that you keep your stock shims in the exact same position. you should be able to obtain the right amount of backlash. i personally had my mechanic install it. i didn't give him any shims to install it with. i don't think he had to use any.

if you want, contact GMracer. he installed his and we were going to do mine, but i had my mechanic do it. i'm sure Nick (GMracer) might be willing to help you out with the install.
