Default YAY. A tranny problem.

Ok. This is ghey. Driving home from work tonight a gremlin reared his ugly *** green head. I thought I smelled tranny fluid a few miles from home. Didnt think much of it untill I got off the highway. My truck was pulling hard left under braking which I knew was a bad sign. Well sure enough, my truck is a shower of tranny fluid. My temps did not go over 150 at all so I hope to GOD I didnt hurt it. I have a split hose right at the radiator. Its one that was supplied with the B&M SUperCooler. Anybody else have this problem?? Or am I the only one. Anybody think I did major damage?

If your trans temp stayed cool and you didn't feel any slipping you'll probably be allright.

*EDIT* just want to add, if this makes you feel any better, I had a similar situation with my 85 Monte w/ a 200R4, and I dumped so much fluid that it started to slip. The engine was a 330hp 350 crate motor. I got another 2 years out of that trans before it went...original trans, went to over 90K.

I guess you could always get some braided or ss style hose...or the stuff from Earl's with the AN fittings. Right now I'm just using the rubber hose that came with my PermaCool, but I always keep an eye on it after my past experience.

Man, that sucks! On a good note though, last week when I dropped some fluid, my temps stayed low and felt no slipping. Ran it this weekend and it shifted perfectly. You should be ok. On a side note....I hate having to clean that crap out from under the truck!!!

From the title I thought you were excited about the new transmission you were about to get.
