I couldnt bring myself to spend that much money on a converter so i stuck with the stock one.. I can still get boost off the line with it too...

But in your situation with cam and gears i can see how it could help.

How much do you plan on towing? It woudnt hurt to call Yank and talk it over with them.

Mine does about the same at 2200..
1000 rpms gets you that much closer to the power bad.. so its got to help.. IF it does flash 3200..

yank advertises that the max recommended towing capacity is 4,000 lbs. my trailer weighs in at around 3,500 with all my tools in it.

as far as performance goes, the extra 1000rpms would help but i beleive the shorter shift extensions, higher str. and the loss of rotational weight of a smaller converter is where I would really gain.

nonnieselman: I too am finding it hard to spend that much money on a converter, if i was going turbo id probly keep the stocker also, keeps going through my head, ya know thats a grand that could go towards a turbo btw thanks for the wiring sticky, it helped when doing the 80e swap

I got the yank tt3200 for the 80e. If I remember right its a triple lock up as well. and you wont drop that many rpms through shifts. I am hoping to be doin the trans swap in the next week. But yea give yank a call, they are nice people and aided me in what size verter to go with for my application. Running a bigger trans cooler and a smaller t-stat will help with trans temp while pulling a trailer as well.

Thats one reason i didnt want to get the TT3200, 4000# isnt alot. Our 4wheeler trailer we built weighs 2000# unloaded. Put 4 Foreman 4x4s on there and thats another 2800#.

I did like the TT3000 in the 60E, i towed alot with it. it would flash to the moon towing and WOT..

Im all about helpin to make something easier and saving money. If ya need any help on the swap shoot me a PM..
