Which Yank Converter...2600 or 3000?

If you have your dynographs we might be able to tell you what exact size to match your setup. the point of a bigger converter is so you have more torque instantly when you punch the gas. Unless you just absolutely dont want anything bigger then 3000 im sure a 3200-3600 wiht that motor would show better track results.

ive got a 2600 and i wish i would have got the 3000 now.

His dyno chart is in the engine section. Torque peaked at about 4600-4700 rpms. I would go with a 3600-3800 converter personally, but of the two listed, 3000 for sure.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and get the 2600. Because I can get one slightly used for $350. Plus I'm kinda tight on money anyways.

Hey, since my 383 is making more torque than most 4.8/5.3 set-ups will it flash slightly higher? Say 2800 or so?

You will regret going smaller expecially in an extended cab IMO.

that converter is WAY small. Man you really should atleast get a 3000. A yank 3000 is tight anywyas.
