I prefer mine with 1/4" of steel instead of polycarbonate or whatever that is.

I agree, I just thought id post to see if some of you had the same initial thought I did. I'm surprised it doesn't come with some good ol' glow in the dark fluid!

Doesn't the diff cover also provide some structural strength to the whole axle assembly? I can't see that doing anything of the sort.
