Wrong flexplate??
#11
Is the builder saying or seeing any thing going bad or wrong with it??? Did you have that converter Checked out at all???
I am not saying Any thing bad about getting a used converter only that it should be inspected to make sure everything Is 100% Correct before using it for your application. For example, Would you buy a used crank and just throw it in a new motor???
Also Did you look at Crankshaft end play on your motor??? Excessive thrust play could cause a similar problem.
Also might help to put a pressure gauge on the trans to make sure the fluid is flowing properly.
Hope one of these suggestions help!!! Keep us posted.

I got the converter cleaned and restalled on this last build. The builder said it all looked fine inside the trans. 2nd gear did have minor wear on clutches which he replaced. ill check the thrust play and get a gauge on it.

He didnt say but maybe I can see it when I pull the converter out. Im thinkin of goin back to a 6 bolt lq4 flexplate and stock converter to see if it works. then order a nice circle d once I get it back up and running.
